- college magazine title page.
Although in past assumptions blue is stereotypically a colour for males, nowadays, people find it quite a neutral colour for girls and boys, so i tried to find a bacground setting with this colour to represent both genders. This photo was taken in the college environment of a metal container the wearing away paint was showing an old green background, which i thought worked well together. The person i decided to photograph, was a friend who is currently a student at college. I wanted to use a student, as this is part of the group i am aiming the magazine towards. The title font i used i thought was quite modern and stylish something in which art and graphic students etc could relate to. All the font i have used is relatively bold and i chose a white and black highlighting colouring to make it all stand out. The left half of the photo is blurred, also to make the main part of the image - the text, stand out amongst the rest.

- college magazine contents page.
Again, using the same background and model I created a similar affect to what was achieved in the front cover. I decided to follow the theme from front cover to contents page and decided not to change model, background or style so the magazine would generally flow from page to page, following some sort of theme. The colours used text wise, arn't maybe as bold or bright as the front cover, but seeing as the contents page is read after the attraction of the front cover, it doesn't need to be as attractive. The font for the title 'contents' i chose, as on the front cover, i thought it looked quite modern and appealling to students.
Your work is certainly getting there but you must get your preliminary task done or you are going to lose marks, which will be both a shame and pointless.
